Managing Washington's Working Forests
Washington State has 23 million acres of the most productive forestland in the country. Of these, 16.2 million acres are classified as commercial, or "working" forests and have been managed for a century or more. In addition to producing wood and paper products, these forests generate oxygen, filter water and provide wildlife habitat.
Frequently Asked Questions About Aerial Application
Foresters and other employees of timber companies may encounter questions about the safety of aerial application on forestland. This hand-out provides you with answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Herbicides in Forestry
Herbicides are used in forestry to improve growing conditions for young trees by reducing the competition from fast growing brush, weeds, and invasive plants.
