Managing the greens and keeping water clean at Glendale County Club
About the Organization
Washington Friends of Farms & Forests opens the door for access to legislators and regulators who make key decisions and enforce the rules governing pest management issues. Our legislative dinner is one of the most highly attended in Olympia.
We represent our member’s interests in front of the Washington State Legislature and regulatory agencies and provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues. We stay actively engaged at the local, state and national levels and provide accurate, science-based information to legislators, regulators and the media to promote a positive business environment for our members.
We have access to toxicologists, water-quality specialists and other scientists through member companies who assist with analyzing reports and the effects of proposed regulations. We use a combination of technical analysis and grassroots stories to influence proposed regulations.
Many of our members are other associations. This gives us a vast network for grassroots activities. In addition, we maintain close working relationships with other state and national business organizations and producer groups. We work with local, regional and national coalitions to facilitate issue management. These relationships translate to highly effective advocacy and powerful networking opportunities for our members.
Monthly meetings provide the opportunity for members to come together and share views, ideas and positions on current issues. We encourage members to voice their ideas, share their concerns and get involved in the decision making process. During the legislative session, meetings are held in Olympia. The rest of the year, meetings convene around the state.
This website serves as a resource to members seeking timely and relevant information related to policy developments, and the science that informs policy, related to agriculture and environmental stewardship. As a leader in advocacy for responsible pest management, plant health and environmental regulation, we regularly post news articles, publications, white papers, research studies and event information.
Other outreach activities include public speaking engagements, media relations and educational displays at public events.
We are proud of our accomplishments. The broader our membership base, the more we can achieve.
The cost of inaction far exceeds the cost of getting involved.
